no post counts for certian sections

I was wondering if there is a way to disable adding to the post count for a certian section?

For example, most forums have an 'off topic' section, but we want to make it so that no posts in off topic count towards the post total. We're hoping that this will help other members have an idea of the people who contribute the most to the sections of the forum that are 'productive' - someone with 5,000 posts with 4,500 of them in OT isn't really much of a contributor!
