I just upgraded to the new version but I dont know why each time I post an entry in utf-8, all the content will be truncated.

You can see it here:

How can I solve this issue?

I just found that if I add @mysql_query("SET NAMES UTF8"); to the line 72 of index.php, all the utf-8 characters will be truncated. If I remove it, the bug will disappear.

I wonder without this hack if SMF can work safely with utf-8 character.

Thanks

If I remove this code line, all my utf-8 character will be displayed incorrectly. All my data has been stored in utf-8 table.

Please help me. :-[

Sorry, UTF support is currently being reviewed - we are trying to find the solution to this - we'll update you as soon as we do :)

Is there any way to turn back RC1 because with RC2, I and my members can not post any thing in utf-8? All the posts will be truncated at and from the first occurrence of "à" character. It means that if anyone post an entry like this:

Diễn đàn này là blah blah... long text here

The post will be displayed as

Diễn đ

only

Could you kindly tell me which function in Subs dealing with à character?

Thanks a lot

Hi, probably I have this bug.

I use hungarian language in my smf portal, and I use here the coding utf-8. Normal posting works well. But if anybody modify his posts, the posts truncated sometimes.
I experienced, that this is happen, if the smf put a nbsp htmlentity to the post. (f.e. if you write a space and after you put any smily, the smf change the space to nbsb htmlentity), In this case if I modify the post, I modify and I send it again, the post will be truncated at the point, where the nbsp htmlentiy was.

Please help me anybody to solve this problem.
