Hi

This might help some who are using a similar theme to myself - Portal Blue.  My experiences of installing SMF Arcade 1.2.4.  Wasn't hard really.  Steps taken:

Downloaded the package.
Installed it through SMF admin whilst ignoring the error message stating that sources/Subs.php wasn't alterable.
Altered sources/Subs.php after reading the file arcade2.xml.  Simply located the part about Subs.php and carried out the alteration manually.
Ran the smf/arcade_install.php by directly linking to it in my browser.  Database installed fine.
Uploaded arcade_extra.php into the smf directory and ran this.  Received an error saying the first line of the database was incorrect or something - don't seem to be causing any problems.
Back to SMF Admin and chose - Themes and Layout.
Made sure Portal Blue was the Default Forum and made sure users can't alter the theme.
Downloaded a load of games from SMFarcade.com
Uploaded them along with the images into my smf/Games directory.
Back to SMF admin and installed them.

Seems to work perfectly.  High scores are being recorded too.  Not sure how to make the arcade available to non registered users though but I am not sure I want that anyway.

Cracking SMF addition  :)

Sorry but if you want to see it working properly you will have to register.

What happened to www.smfarcade.com? It has been replaced by a hack site. Do you have any idea where I can get the game packages?
Thanks,

Wrong url - Smf Arcade is .net not .com.  Here is the address:

SMF Arcade

I find the best way to add a link to arcade when using Joomla is to add a link in the site menu, fits in better with the site that way.  As to installing arcade, it's best to always set your smf theme to default as less errors that way, then make any edits once it's installed, including to any other themes your site uses.

Thoughts are free, it's their consequences that often have a cost.
