Problem with login - bridged when using SMF native login box

I am experiancing a weird problem with my login.  I have installed RC2 and the new bridge.  When I login using the login form, it works fine, but when I make a mistake, and the smf login box comes up in the center of the screen and I login from that, it takes me to the forum directly and I loose mambo.  When running through mambo SMF seems to work fine.    For example, I forget to type in the username, and just click login, it redirects me to a page to login on (still in mambo) when I login there, I loose mambo.
