Showing Boardnews

Is there a possibility to show the boardnews in joomla? On my current site I use MKPortal where I have a forum id assigned to grab the news to show on the frontpage. So every new topic I make shows as news on the frontpage (See http://www.limburgracingteam.nl to see what I mean).

Is something like this possible with Joomla?

Well, I'm a SMF newbie but one solution could be to write your articles using Jooma!'s publishing tools and use discussbot to link to the relevant forum area. Discussbot for Joomla! can be found here, and there's plenty of info regarding it in this forum.
