Newbie Here: Can't find install.php??? Help!

I've been looking everywhere and decided to come here hoping you can enlighten me.
I am using smf forums and installed it with no problem, but I can't seem to find the install.php it says I need to delete. Now my questions are, is there a difference in installing this manually as to using it through a web host that offered it by installing it with just a click of a button? Would they automatically delete it for you? Sorry if I'm not making sense, but I can't find it anywhere! PLease advise... help!!!! Thanks
