Help with a theme

Hello there to all!

Im new with the SMF and now im trying to make my Theme by using the code of another.....

1. So now i have the problem that the part with the FORUM CATEGORYS expands with the resoultion...i want that it has a fixed size and never changes with resolution and allways stays in the center of the hxxp:forum.how [nonactive] can i do that?

2.The parts in the header like search,buttons etc. how can i change their position on the banner?
