Orstio

When you installed Joomla and SMF, did you make sure your Joomla admin username and password matched your SMF username and password?

no i dit not read some think about that, i have different names and passwords,
but if you think that is the problem, i can enter my database - to change that or not_?
actually the smf was converted from  phpBB-  and i took my password over

Orstio

They will need to be the same.

I DONT GET IT together, if you can tell me how to make the user_names and passwords the same _?

in the DB the username is like this: cf421ce0dfa0d350679fab9f69fb2b087ab8e8bf ... so i am not sure if i can change anything there_?

and also from where do i have to enter the joomla_admin , above you are writing to make it here: http://www.harekrischna.de/home/  edit by me later

but how can i go from there in the joomla admin_anyway

Quotein the DB the username is like this: cf421ce0dfa0d350679fab9f69fb2b087ab8e8bf ... so i am not sure if i can change anything there_?

That looks like an MD5 hash, which would be your password, not your username.

Your Joomla admin panel is here:

http://www.harekrischna.de/home/administrator

But, in order to migrate your SMF information into your Joomla database, it is advisable to login on the wrapped forum.  That will force your password into your Joomla database.  Going to your profile in SMF, and changing your password will also have that same effect.

Is this documented anywhere?  This is the first time that I've heard that when doing the initial install of Joomla and SMF that they need to be the same.  I use Joomla + SMF + CPG and when I do the initial install, I use the names 'admin' for Joomla, 'adminsmf' for SMF and 'admincpg' for Coppermine.  I bridge everything together and for the Orstio bridge, I choose 'use SMF registration'.  I use 'adminsmf' as my primary login, except when doing Joomla admin stuff, in which case I must use 'admin'.

Does that sound ok?  Or have I messed up something by not choosing the same username/pw for Joomla and SMF?

Kindred

I don't know that it is documented anywhere, because it seems like fairly basic logic to me...

If you want to be able to login as joomla and SMF admin, both the admin users for joomla and smf NEED to be the same...  Otherwise you have one user who is an admin in SMF and a regular user in Joomla and a second user sho is a regular user in SMF and an admin in Joomla...

It is OK, as long as you are aware that adminsmf won't get you into the Joomla admin panel, and admin won't get you into the SMF admin panel.  Most people get confused by this, because they assume that the bridge somehow magically knows what name they chose in the other system, and a single login will somehow magically log them into both despite the fact that their usernames and passwords are different.

that dos not help me to mutch,

the must be the same in my case anyway -  because i can login smf - with that from joomla, it came in the DB while install of the bridge,
i do realy think that this is not the problem,

if i try to login from here: . http://www.harekrischna.de/     edit by ne later .. after it goes out of the wrapp,
so i dont think the data can go in the joomla_database, there must be some think wrong,

also as i try to change some thing in my profil of smf (not_wrappt) there was no asking of reconcile my password, that was not like this before

Orstio

I have registered on your site.  Please approve my membership so I can do some testing.

baladeva

Orstio

No, that's alright.

Is there anything in your SMF error log?

Do you have SMF and Joomla in seaparate databases?
