Instant Member Activation

I would like for members to be able to register without opening a confirmation email. Phpbb does not require activation emails.

It's a setting in your admin centre. On Features and Settings (SMF 1.0.5) or under "Registration" for SMF 1.1

I see these options

"Immediate Registration"
"Member Activation"
"Member Approval"
"Registration Disabled"

Doesn't immediate registration still require an email confirmation?
