SMF Handling some translations for Joomla

I'm in the process of making my site bilingual (English, Spanish), using a modified Mambelfish, and it seems that some translations, most notably the date on my template (mosCurrentDate) and the months of the Archive module are being controlled by SMF, via the Bridge.

To test this, I removed the bridge code from the index file of the template and the translations show up. With the code back in, only changing the language in SMF would change the language for those 2. How can I fix this? I had asked at the Joomla Forum before realizing that it's probably a Bridge issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

That's strange.  Language strings in SMF are mostly all part of the $txt array...

2 other things I should point out is (1), I changed the encodings to "UTF-8" and (2), Joomla and SMF are in different DB's. Not sure if that matters.

Oh. I'm using Joomla 1.07, SMF 1.1RC2, Bridge 320 (with update 1/13)

Ok, the Archive module is NOT being affected by the Bridge, but by a Recent Posts/Calendar Events module. I'll try and figure that one out.
But the template date, which should be mosCurrentDate(), IS being affected by the Bridge.

yup...  probably would be affecting it.  The recnet posts module and the calendar module use the SMF defined strings for month...   If the variables are the same, then you'll ovbiously have a conflict.
