actually that didn't help at all, I am using version. 1.0.6 and I added your code and got parse errors. I figure this would be a good mod but does no good for users that can't just add it to any theme. Nice try but in order for a user that doesn't have code skills to use it needs to be easier to modify.
so then you expect me to code this mod for the 100's of themes that are out there?

idahojoe

At least code it so that it works for the two themes that come with SMF "default" and "classic".

Bigguy

It does work with the default theme, I use it right now.

idahojoe

bigguy,
re-read my post... I said at least code it so that it works for the two themes that come with it.

Bigguy

@ idahojoe: Its really not that hard to ad the code manually. Try using This program or This That should help out a bit.

idahojoe

I added it manually and I got parse errors. I wonder if it had to do because I wasn't using RC2 or whatever?

Bigguy

What error are you getting ??

idahojoe

The error I got was something along the lines of: "Parse error in index.template.php, something sour has went wrong...."

something like that.

Bigguy

well, that really doesnt help alot. Are you still getting the error ???

idahojoe

Of course I'm not, I took out what was causing the problem. Which was the code that he pasted a few posts before. Like I said, I wonder if I get the parse errors because I'm not using the rc2 version??

binary

Installing this package will perform the following actions:
Type Action Description
1. Execute Modification ./Sources/ModSettings.php Failure
2. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/languages/Modifications.english.php Success
3. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/index.template.php Failure
4. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/BoardIndex.template.php Failure
5. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/Display.template.php Success
6. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/MessageIndex.template.php Success
7. Execute Code install.php

can i get help on this, any help would be great

Bigguy

@ idahojoe: That is possible and probably the reason for the errors.

@ binary: try making those modifications manually to the files that failed to modify. All the directions should be in the .xml file of the zip for that modification. 2 programs I use for modifying files are Winmerge and Php designer 2005 Both awesome programs and they are free.

(I am not affiliated with either program in any way)

another mod is conflicting with your mod, or you might be using the wrong ad mod version. remember to use ad_mod_rc2... if your using RC2 SMF, or ad_mod_1-0-6 if your using 1.0.6 SMF
if your using the correct version, try reading this post

No, simply I am saying I don't know HOW to install the mod, I downloaded the 2 elements as said in your post, but i don't know HOW to continue: i am lost ! ...simply
Is there any another way to do it ?

Is this mod  the ONLY way to insert google adsense ONLY into the posts ?

Thanks in advance !
