Zeremi

Doesnt work!

Bigguy

Did you recieve any errors while installing through the package manager ??? Are you using a diferent theme other than the default one.

Zeremi

No errors.

I use Dark Red... But I try the default now.

Zeremi

Nope, the same thing when using other themes...

Bigguy

Can you provide me a link. Do you have your ad code inserted properly.

Zeremi

Well, there is no ads right now at the site but heres a screenshot.

I don`t believe that`s the latest version. You should uninstall it and use the newest version with smf1.1 rc2 or have you not upgraded yet. If your using a different theme other than the default all the edits must be put in manually to the template files listed in the "install.xml" file.

EDIT: This is the latest version of the ad mod: ad_mod_rc2_v2.zip

Zeremi

I download that, I install it, I did put the files to FTP and right director...

But what execute code    install.php  mean?

Zeremi

Oh sorry, I think it works now! I was looking at features and options, not the right place...

But thanks anyway! And sorry for many tiny posts and double posts!

When installing this mod you have to goto your "Admin panel" then to "Packages" then click on "Download Packages" Hit the browse button and find the zip file on your computer and upload that way. Once you have it uploaded hit the proceed link.

It will do a test to see if it can install itself, you should see the word "success" beside all of the files, if you do then hit the "Install now" button at the bottom right corner. This will install the mod. First you will have to remove the other one and all your edits that you did if any before trying to install it this way.

EDIT: Ok, glad you got it.

Zeremi

Doh...

I did everything that I should to display my picture with html code.
Only thing... It wont show anything...

So...  >:(

Zeremi

Ok, I noticed it goes to default theme. How can I change it to go my Dark Red theme?

And btw, the new version aint working. This is hard to explain but ill try...

There are two Ad Management places, one under Features and Option's place, other just at Configuration.
At FandO there is this one box thing that I posted the screenshot.
In C there is better version that allows multiple ads and more features.
But the better wont work. The bad works and I need more places than one.
And that works only at default theme.

Lets say that there read A at the bad version and B at the better.
When I change to default there reads A, not B...
But in the configure place I did put that there should be read B...

Hehe, got it?

I test somethings more... Like taking the A away from the bad version... Maybe its over my B...

Zeremi

Ok, I ot it work! for only default theme...

So please answer soon for my question: How to make ads show in other themes? (example Dark Red)

Thanks!
-Zeremi

Zeremi

Well, I search this mods pages and found the answer... Almost...

I should manually add things by the install.xml file, right?
Now there is a problem... It asks some file from my themedir that I dont got...

>:(

Why this is so ***king hard...

(Sorry for the 4th double post...)

Bigguy

If the file it is asking for is not there, thats ok. This means that your theme will use the default template in which case the edits for that file should already be done when you installed it.

Zeremi

...

Great...

I juuuust replaced the edited files with the normals...

Isnt there other way? like all the files that I need to put into default I would put it into Dark Red...?

Becaus im bad at that coding, tired and that code... Its freaking big...  :-[

Bigguy

The files from the default theme might not exactly be compatible with the theme your trying to use. Thats why you have to manually add the edits to other themes.

Zeremi

"Template Parse Error!
There was a problem loading the /Themes/DarkRed/index.template.php template or language file. Please check the syntax and try again - remember, single quotes (') often have to be escaped with a slash (\). To see more specific error information from PHP, try accessing the file directly.

You may want to try to refresh this page or use the default theme.
parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ',' or ';'"

...

And I was happy for one moment...

Now excuse me, I need to go shout...

Bigguy

All the edits that need to be done can be found here
