Message Indexing...

Uhm I've already asked this question in SMF Coding Discussion Board but it looks like
nobody know it or people don't see the topic there ?!? So you can delete that post if you want...

Ok this is something I really don't understand... Everytime you enter a Board
every Message of a Topic in that Board get parsed but why ??
Why do you need to know every message in a Topic at that time ??
Wouldn't it be enough if you just know the title of the last message in a Topic and
time/poster of that Topic ?? Is there a way to detect if someone just entered a Board
or entered the Topic in function parse_bbc() ?!?

Uhm can someone explain it to me with a few words maybe ?!?
Maybe there's something I didn't think about... Oh and is there
a way to check if the user is in a Topic or Board ??

Please help me someone I really don't understand why it's done
for every post in a board if ya enter it and not just for e.g. the last post...
