Permission that does nothing (?)

hello everybody,
i'm using SMF as my forum (actually as my site, since I use the TP mod on top of it) and wan't to allow guests to vote
I have a special board (Guest Board) where guests can post anything, the idea was not to add a guestbook to my site, but give everybody that doesn't wan't to register the ability to say something
so as you understand guest have special permission in the Guest Board

now comes the tricky part... I wanted them to be able to vote in polls
I looked in the permission page and there was no option for such a thing
but then I looked in the drop down menus (where you add an option to the selected groups)
and there it was, an options that says:
Vote in polls
I added this option to the guest group (only for the specific board)
the allowed permissions counter went to 7 (it was 6) but nothing changed, and still the option is invisible if I go to the permissions page!!
I can only ue it through the drop down menu, and no matter if I change its status it does nothing

and now the questions:
is it a bug or something? am I doing something wrong?
is there a way to allow guests to vote or this option is just there for future (or from past) versions of SMF??

ps: my site is www.tio.gr (it is basically in greek but if anybody want's to see the guest board and what I'm talking about he/she wan't have any problem, all menus are still in english)

Guests cannot vote in SMF polls because that's not how the system works. If you want polls open to guests you'll have to use another poll system sorry.

i've read that in the forums, I was just curious about the permission that I'm describing above
anyway, I'm looking for some scripts (no luck up to now)

nope, what is dtrades? (their site is unreachable, dtrades.org)

as for the poll system:
I tried cjdynamicpoll but it doesn't work with TinyPortal correctly
so i'm searching for something else

have you tried to use it without tiny portal?

um. it works for me ur ip must be banned becuase someone tryed to do bad things on that site with that ip

its a forum based on ipb forums its used for trading items for a game called diablo 2. similar to world of warcraft.

i'm a blizzard fan, but i prefer Starcraft

dynamicpoll works on its on, but it is useless... I have to intergrate it with TP

so does my cuzin maybe if you cant find another poll mod u might try a diferent portal.

tiny portal is exactly what i want from a portal
i don't plan to change to something else
