How can I show 10 last modified posts on my main page?

I have activated the Recent Posts view on my forum and its vurrently showing the 10 lasts posts posted.
Is it possible to modify it to show the 10 last modified threads instead of Recent Posts on my forum mainpage?
I want my forum mainpage to show the 10 last modified threads regardless of if the user has read them allready or not.

Now it shows the 10 most recent posts and 3 - 4 of them is often from the same thread.

Does anyone have a suggestion how I can do this? 

I use SMF 1.1 RC2 and Classic YaBB SE theme.

Yes there is 

go to:

/your forum/Themes/default/PortalTemplate.php and in the top you change

// How Many Announcements Items To Show?

   $newslimit = 'x';

x = the number of posts you wanna show.

I don't have any PortalTemplate.php in that directory...
