Timed Modify feature?

I've tried leaving Modify on, and then off...I get complaints either way.

Is there a way that I could have it only show the 'modify' button for...say...10min after a post is made? That would appease the people that need to use it to fix mis-spellings, and also not let people 'rewrite history' with some careful changes. (I DO have it show modifications...but if they erase what they typed..it doens't matter.)

Any ideas?

The feature is already available in SMF 1.1.
