Install Mod error

SMF Version: SMF 1.0.6
Any help on this would be much appreciated, Its getting a little frustrating.

When I try and install the mod I get the following:

2. Execute Modification     ./Sources/Karma.php     Failure

then when I hit proceed I get

2: copy(/home/webtech/public_html/hiphop/hhbforum/index.php~): failed to open stream: Permission denied
File: /home/webtech/public_html/hiphop/hhbforum/Sources/Subs-Package.php
Line: 1241

I have checked that all my files are CHMOD 777.. Where to look next?

The error you're getting means that there is already a copy of index.php~ on the server - either delete it or chmod it to 777.

As far as the mod error - please post in the topic for the mod you are trying to install.
