SMF Version: SMF 1.1 RC2
Hello, :)

In the SMF Joomla-SMF Forum Configuration, installation, I've had success in saving the 1) Forum URL:..., 2) SMF Absolute Path: /home/confidentiel/public_html/forum, but I have the following error with «3) SMF Database Prefix: smf_ ...(incorrect prefix) not installed Install SMF Forum on the same database as Joomla.» Per my knowledge, my SMF Forum is installed in the same database as Joomla. Can you help? SMF was given the name Forum; folder is title Forum.

What database prefix did you use when you installed SMF? Are both systems using the same MySQL user account?

what version of the bridge are you using?

If this is the joomlahacks bridge (which it looks like), you will get better support over on joomlahacks.com
(most of us here use Orstio's bridge, which does not have 1 or 3 from your list)

Thanks, where can I find the Orstio's bridge download?

Hello again,

On my web hosting account, from others I have Fantastico/SMF that created a database and a user called yourname_smf1 (yourname = your cPanel username). When I insert this information in the section 3) SMF Database Prefix as shown above, it doesn't work. I did install Joomla on the same database. I've tried to install the Orstio's bridge, but it will take me more hours to understand installation. I've yet to pass Step1. Would like to try your shot at my bridge installation? I would create a temporary account for you to access.

I think you are probably using the WRONG version of the bridge, if you have step1...

In addition, version 1.1.2 aka 3.20 does not require the smf prefix or database to be entered in the bridge config...

uninstall what ever you are trying to use and use the bridge attached to the message that was in the link I gave to you earlier.

Thanks for your kind support.

At http://mamboxchange.com/frs/?group_id=543 [nofollow] , I don't have access to the 1.1.2 aka 3.20. Where can I download? The last version at above link is: MOS_SMF_BRIDGEv3.19a_SMF1.1b3.zip.

As I said, that version of the bridge will NOT work with SMF 1.1RC2.

for 1.1RC2, you *MUST* install 1.1.2

See the link above!!!

Thanks for your patience.

The SMF version installed on Fantastico is SMF 1.0.5 and able to upgrade to 1.0.6.

Robert Richard.

Orstio

So do you have SMF 1.0.6 or SMF 1.1 RC2?

worrypascanada

Orstio

Then you need MOS_SMF_BRIDGEv3.19a_stable.zip.

In SMF, I've started to apply smf_mambo3.1.tar.gz and I get the following difficulty:

   Type     Action     Description
1.    Apply modification    ./Sources/Subs.php failed (failure)

I've modified the sources/subs.php attributes to 777. How to resolve?

Robert Richard.

Issue resolved! Deleted smf_mambo3.1.tar.gz and uploaded again in SMF, installation successful.

Thanks for your patience.

if you have 1.0.6 installed, why did you note 1.1 RC2 in your very first post?

In addition... as I have previously noted in other posts. 3.19a does not ask for the smf prefix either...

This morning, I've research this for about 15-20 minutes and it seems that it was added in error. It seems odd that I added before my Hello line. Often, I will cut and paste and rewrite my messages. I might left part of this pasting and forgot to remove.

Hello again,

Today, I needed to reinstall MOS_SMF_BRIDGEv3.19a_stable with SMF 1.0.6. I get the following error when installing Step 1: smf_mambo3.1.tar.gz:

   Type     Action     Description
1.    Apply modification    ./Sources/Subs.php    Failure.

2.     Apply modification     ./index.php     Success
3.    Extract File    ./Sources/MOS_SMF.php

I've set attributes for Sources (777), Subs (777). Still no success with above installation.

Installation 1-2-3-4 folders of MOS_SMF_BRIDGEv3.19a_stable worked fine a few weeks ago.

Yesterday, I was working in Cpanel Fantastico MySQL. From lack of knowledge, from others, I deleted my Joomla database. I thought I was deleting error messages, but I soon realize they were MySQL database. From others, my hosting company had to use backup from 2 weeks ago to reinstate my web Joomla web site. From others, my Orstio's bridge installation was missing from Joomla Backend Admin. My SMF 1.0.6 seems to work ok when login.

Hope you can help.

Hello again,

Hope I can find a solution to my current problem. Can you help? Should I started a new SMF installation from scratch?

Orstio

Are you sure that Step 1 is not already installed?

worrypascanada

Hello,

Thanks for reply.

I've uninstalled step 1 and remove uploaded file for step 1.

Robert Richard.
