Cant we have a warning system like in IPB...

dont tell  that use karma for warning... karma is liked by all and i use it as popularity... all like it!

In IBP the warning system is the best!

Moderators can warn or admin can... and give a reason which is sent viz PM to the warned member..
the member sees its warning lvl too.

It would be great but SMF doesn't want to go to heavy.

well if a warning system is too heavy at this time, how about an option to report the post to someone?

"Report to moderator"? It's right next to "Logged" at the bottom of every post.

I'd agree, a built-in warning system would be excellent and should be standard, IMO.

There is a warning mod already, as soon as its updated it`ll be ready to use.

I believe a MCP (moderator control panel, for reported posts) and warnings are on the roadmap for 1.2

Why start to talk about version 1.2 when 1.1 not finished yet? And what's the problem with version 1.1 when it's nearly 4 months since the release of 1.1 RC 2 and 1.1 is not due to release yet?

I was not specifically talking about 1.2, just a rough outline of what has been planned.

RC2 has been released for 3 and a bit months. It has been delayed slightly due to UTF-8 problems

Is UTF-8 the only thing causing the 1.1 final delay? So when will we see 1.1 final release? Timeline: 14 days, 1 month, a whole year?  ???

H

Hopefully it will be either this month or next although I can't be too exact as I am not a team member so I don't get the insider info

Yes but the team members don't usually mind giving a approx timeline in months ;)
