Hello.

I have successfully done many phpbb to smf conversions in the past. all worked great.

I tried today a phpbb 2.11 (?) to smf 1.05 conversion, but the result is only 30% of the topics and almost 1% of the posts copied.

No error messages at all. Just missing topics and posts.

Any help? I would be thankful and would reward.

What do you get if you go to Admin -> Forum Maintenance and click on "Find and repair any errors"?

I get 100's of lines like those

Topic 510 contains no messages
Topic 73 has a bad first message: 162

Fix? I yes, and ....

477 topic(s) without messages have been removed successfully

All errors fixed! Please check on any categories, boards, or topics created to decide what to do with them.



final result :  the 30% of topics that were converted (of course without any posts) are also lost now.

I still have the phpbb database..... so I can restart the whole conversion.

one thing I have noticed in the past, you need to log in...

if you look at the forum just after conversion and you see some topics missing
it could be cause those were restricted in phpBB, and cause the permissions for
viewing are slightly different in SMF, you wont see them til your logged in

I am logged in as ADMIN.........  and I can also look at the general forum statistics ......

no, I only got 30% of the topics and almost none of the posts.

we could work together and ask a coder to check the converter for us.

Would you accept to pay $25 for this?  I can pay the same, and we have then $50 for the coder who works on checking the converter.
