Hello All,

This is my first post here on the forum and I'm sure many more. Here is my problem, I was able to bridge Joomla 1.0.8 with SMF 1.0.6, everything seems to be ok. So far I'm liking what I see.

Now, here is were the problem comes in, when I log in it takes me to my SMF Forum, I have configured it as wrapped and User Bridge Registration. When I logout it also take me to the SMF Forum.

Any ideas how I can fix this?

Here is my forum so you can see what I'm talking about

Now to make matters worse I have no way to access my Administration login screen, can anyone help me at least get back into my backend?

Thanks for any and all help!

Hello All,

Update on my website problems. I figured out how to get to my backend (not that one) anyway, after getting back into the admin portion of the site, I went and made sure the bridge was configured. I then went to the module section, and unpublished my smf login, I published my orginal login module and viola, the site seems to be working. Now I will have to see if I can get both databases talking to each other. My web hoster uses Vdeck so I'm not sure if I can link the 2 together.

Also can anyone help me with the width of my forum. I went in and tried to change the width to 100% but everything on the left side of the screen goes to the right and the main tables jump way down. So, I made the site 1200. Is there anyway that I can make the site 100% without changing everything?

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated!

Thanks

I believe I used 3.20 Bridge. One other question, when new users create an account, they are snet an e-mail for activation. This works fine, now when they try to login they get an error saying they have to contact the administrator.

When I go into the user manager, I see them listed, I click on there name and see that they have been blocked. Seems like all my registered users are blocked until I unblock them. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

So, I suppose I need to waste my time (again) pasting a quote from the message from which you downloaded that bridge?

QuoteThis bridge is compatible with SMF 1.1 RC2 (Which is why it says that in the topic title).  It is NOT compatible with any previous version of SMF.  If you do not wish to upgrade to SMF 1.1 RC2, then please use a previous bridge version that is compatible with your version of SMF:

Not only does it say that in the first message in the topic, the title of the topic is "Bridge Mambo/Joomla SMF 1.1 RC2".

In addition to that, I made a topic to specifically deal with people getting the wrong version of the bridge, entitled "Versions, Let's get them right" which is also stickied to the top of this board.

What else could I have possibly done to keep you from downloading and installing the wrong version?

Orstio,

Well, I am sorry if you feel you wasted your time, but I did get the bridge working, the one that supposedly is not compatible. The site is now working fine. I just thought maybe I could get some in site, and yes I did search and read this board for the last 3 days! I read those posts you quoted too, but like I said I got it working.

I even got the login issue solved! login on frontpage and it carries over to the SMF 1.0.6 forum.

Only other thing to get working is the registration, for some reason all new registered users are blocked until I unblock them, can you help with that?

Thanks for your time and hope you can move on to something else.

It is impossible to get the 3.20 bridge working correctly with SMF 1.0.6.  SMF 1.0.6 does not have the integration hooks required for the 3.20 bridge to work.

It might appear at first glance that it is working, but trust me when I say that it is definitely not.

OlBandit

Well, it all seems like it is working, I guess I'm not that much of a retard as I thought I was.

So for now thanks for your harsh words, and wonderful slashing out!

Enjoy your self!

Don't you just love ignorant human beings, we can be told something and somehow it just doesn't sink into our brains, I know i'm guilty of this too, perhaps there are too many posts to sift through, can't read all of them to do that would take 100 yeas.  imagine if posts were deleted and only held on for a month i bet then the info would be easier to read.

BTW - is there still issues with joomla 1.0.8 and the SMF 1.1RC2 ? ?  anyone know when a possible solution will come out ?

Kindred

yes there is still an issue...   no, Orstio has not commented on releasing a new version of the bridge.

Orstio, just ignore the guy and keep up the good work, your time and effort is much appreciated by this user and many others who follow instruction and use your bridge successfully.

Thank you
