Wrapping smf in Joomla without side modules

After spending hours searching for the answer to this and trying some things, I'm still having trouble finding the answer and I was wondering if anyone here could help.

First, I'm using:
Joomla 1.0.8
SMF 1.1 RC2 bridged with Cowboy's Bridge
Ja_hadar template

Now, all I want is for my forum to be wrapped in the Joomla site.  Wrapped meaning that when I go to Forum, I don't want to see any side modules.  The template for Joomla is 2 column, modules are placed on right side of screen.

I've gone through and followed: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=19638.0
and it all worked.  Not sure what it did that it wasn't doing before but I have removed any modules from the right of the screen, but there is still space for modules and the forum doesn't occupy 100% of the width of my Joomla header and footer.

Can someone assist with this?  Seems like it would be in the FAQ's since I'm certain most people who wrap smf would want it to look nice.

Thanks for all your help!

The only support you're likely to find here is for Orstio's bridge. If you want to use his, see the Mambo/Joomla Bridge Support board.

Well, what's the difference.  Actually I've read a thread on the differences, if I wanted to change so I could get support, how do I go about that.  I've left a post on Joomlahacks forum with no response.

I've tried the Oristo's bridge once but not much experience with it.  Please, if someone could convince me of a good reason to use it over the other, and then tell me how to make that change, I'm more than open to your suggestions and comments.

Thank you.

Oh, one more thing.  Explain how to wrap the entire contents or send me to a link that will show it.  I want to use smf with the joomla header and footer less the right module.

Thanks again everyone.  Looks like a nice forum software so far.  Can't wait to get the site up and running.

I think you've already answered your own question on why to use Orstio's bridge.  He actively supports his users.  Regarding no side bars, that is a function of Joomla, not SMF.  You need to have the forum wrapped and the Joomla page to only show content on the forum component.
