new theme category bg problems only in joomla integration

I noticed that the new theme as we see on this very web site works as standalone.

but with my joomla integration/bridge the category bg in i.e. has a white space of about 5px on the right hand side but only when a category is expanded.

Has anyone else seen this. Also sometimes i see that the expand categories do not work on some peoples smf sites in i.e. but do in firefox.

could anyone point me in the right direction, i have spent 2 hours trying to debug this and have taken both the integrated and standalone sources side by side for comparison with no luck.

I have isolated the code as is here, examine the source and test in firefox which works and ie which has the gap at the end. It is the table below which if is smaller than 100% will mean the blue header colour/image is ok.

as the code is above removes the problem. If the padding and border are there then the image doesnt extend along far enough as in the link in the previous post ( http://www.mycambs.com/bug.html) .

firefox displays it correctly.

WHAT I CANT WORK OUT is why the joomla wrapper afects it. This .tborder isnt in joomla.
