YABB 1.5.5 SE to SMF conversion ...

Hello everybody

This is my first post here and I want to apologise for my bad English , I french ans as you know frenchs are not very good with foreign languages 

I have a problem : I'm an administrator with a YABB 1.5.5 SE Forum anf I have décided to convert it to SMF ( thank for this wonderful new forum kind )... but I'm a graphist and coding is really weird to me ...

So if you may explain me the process to make a succesful conversion ... it'll be very cool !

I have search on this forum an answer but I don't find the solution .....

Hi,

Download the SMF package Here and upload it to the same folder as your YaBBSE forum.

Then run install.php on your site to install SMF files and tables.

Then download the YaBBSE convertor from Here
Upload the convertor to your web site and then run it.

The convertor will do the rest for you

If you get any problems or error messages then please let us know.

Does this convert YaBB to SMF 1.0.X or 1.1? Will it work with both? Just one?

My interpretation is that the convertor is for the latest stable release, which currently would be SMF 1.0.6

Yes it should work fine for YaBB SE 1.5.x

So I have to upload zip content in YABB folder ? it's right ? ( I really don't want to do a mistake ! )

And The converter YABB to SMF in the same folder ?

That's correct.

Although please make sure you take a backup of your YaBBSE folder before starting the procedure - just in case
