bridged smf 1.1 RC2 with Joomla 1.0.7 - login for ever wont work

Hi all !

I work with Joomla 1.0.7 and smf 1.1 RC2 with the SMF-Mambo/Joomla bridge for 1.1 RC2 - and its great

Everything works fine - but if i close my browser next time i open the page i am logged out from both systems (joomla and smf) - all other ppl who are surfing on my page have the same problem.
I tried all possibilities to login (1 hour, 1 day, ..... for ever) but i am only logged in for the actual browser session.

Someone can help me to stay logged in for ever ?
Did i forget something ?

fer...   this is NOT related to your problem, since you are using the joomlahacks bridge and Stefan is using Orstio's bridge.  The two bridges are (at this point) completely different.

I have sent you a message about my url - cause its a austrian intranet (german language) with an ip-blocker.
So i cant post the url public

I tried something around and here are the results ... maybe for someone who will an can help me:

Browser: IE 6

disable mod_smf_login and enable mod_login: login for ever works from joomla login for joomla page !
disable mod_login and enable mod_smf_login: login for ever dont works from joomla login for joomla page !

if i login directly at smf board (not by joomla-url) - i stay logged in 4 ever at the board
- if i login at joomla-page and log out - i logged out too from smf.
if i login by joomla-url (bridger smf) - i only stay logged in for current session
- if i open a new browser session from the current session and go to jommla or bridged-smf page - i stay logged in
- if i open a new browser session and go to joomla or bridged-smf page - i am logged out

Please post the solution when you get the URL and resolve the issue.
I have the exact same problem on a site that is under development. 
Joomla 1.07, SMF 1.1 RC2, Bridge 1.1.2.

I can't post the URL as the site is password protected until it is ready.

What are your settings in SMF for:

Database driven sessions

Subdomain independent cookies

Enable local storage of cookies: enabled
Use subdomain independent cookies: disabled

Well, there is your problem.

Local cookies should ALWAYS be disabled when using the bridge.

It fixed my problems also. 
I did not think I had cookies enabled, but I did.
