Joomla 1.0.7+SMF 1.1 RC2+ Joomlahacks Bridge -> last unread messages do not show

First of all, thank you for helping people to use this systems. I know how difficult it becomes sometimes.
I have a problem that persists in the last 6 days and it is making me crazy.

My problem:

The "Show unread posts since last visit. | Show new replies to your posts." links does no show when acessed from website frontend link (from joomla)  . All functionality of SMF seems to work ok (except that the "register" link is also showed in SMF when i want only Joomla registration option .

It is related to session management i think, because every user saw its avatar and these 2 links the first hour they were logged (we migrated from PHPbb 8 days ago), but they are gone to everybody now. And it is a very important functionality as we have quite a few messages a day.

If somebody can direct me in the correct direction would be NICE. i have read almost everything that shows "unread messages", "session" "login" and i am not able to find the right solution.
