joomla smf gallery2

I think I have read everything on here (and anywhere else I have found!!) but I still have  a problem that I cannot resolve.

I'm running:

Joomla! 1.0.8 Stable [ Sunshade ] 26-Feb-2006 05:00 UTC
SMF 1.1 RC2
Bridge Mambo,Joomla SMF 1.1 RC2 (aka 3.20)
Gallery 2.0.2
com_gallery2_v2.0.12

Joomla SMF - no problem works beautifully, thank you Orstio.

Gallery is installed in joomla can sync users and groups, but gallery does not recognize logged in users. Visit the gallery and you are a guest. Does not matter what permissions I set for which users or groups in gallery, you are not seen as being logged in.

I've seen sites using joomla, smf, gallery2 with all that working, but cannot make it work for me.

Any advice would be very gratefully received.

Just found the answer for myself, just in case anyone else has the same issue take a look at this topic
