I need someone to help me please

I have just installed SMF on my ftp and am looking for someone who would be willing to get it going for me. I just cant seem to figure it out on my own and have read all notes on how to install and still cannot get it going. if someone is willing to help me please let me know by PM or by email.

Correct FTP login info? You downloaded SMF install package from here? unziped it to your computer and uploaded it to you web host? Tried running install.php?

Btw. IF you are hosted by web-slingers.com they seem to be really expencive.

we did that but it wouldn't accept any of the information that was put in there. it is under http://www.parentingdiscussions.com/SMF [nofollow] that is where it stops

If the SMF FTP stuff doesn't work, then use your FTP client or your control panel app to change the permissions.  The install screen tells you what files and directories need to be writable.

Yeah, already have done that, (laughs) man I am telling you, sometimes you want to just punch your computer in the soft spot, there is always something that comes your way and stops you cold in your tracks. Something that is so simple can be the most trouble..

I guess I would like to take a moment to clear some stuff up in here, it has been a long time, but my site is now running perfect, and it had nothing to do with my hosting at all, as of matter of fact all my problems came from an old program that I used.

Web Slingers is at the top of the game, and has a lot more to offer then most hosting companies, first off customer support is the best that I have ever seen, they are there when you need them to be there, and no they are not ever exspensive, like you say you get what you paid for, and what you get pay for is what you get, and I get all that and a bag a chips to go along with it all.

Sometimes you just have to be willing to work with someone, and while working through different channels I was able to get the support I needed, and now my site is working really good, better then ever and I still have not had any problems with my site. Although it took some tweaking and yes I lost everything in there, I also found out that using Nuke was one of the biggest mistakes I had ever made.
