SMF Version: SMF 1.1 RC2
I am attempting a manual install of SMF 1.1RC2 so that I can configure it to run with Joomla using the same database.  I downloaded the file to install SMF 1.1.RC2 and thought that I meticulously ftp'd all files and directories.  I changed the permissions on the files per the installation guide found on this website.  However:

#1:  I cannot locate locally (my download from this website to my hard drive) or remotely on my host server the file Packages/server.list - therefore I can't set the permissions.  Can someone please tell me what to do about this.

#2:  When I type in my URL to launch the installer I get a "cannot find server page" ....I am browsing to:  http://www.sinusgroup.tld/smf/install.php, I have also tried browsing to www.sinusgroup.tld/smf/install.php per http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=6765.0

I uploaded smf without creating a database via smartFTP because I am trying to integrate joomla 1.08 and smf 1.1RC2.  I have 2 directories under my domain:  one is joomla - where I have created a sql database and the other directory is smf - where I have uploaded all of my smf installation files.

My web host provider www.lunarpages.com [nofollow] I believe can support everything I am trying to accomplish.

Can someone please shed some much needed light on this subject?

PS:  And I just double checked my permission on settings.php and settings_bak.php and they are 777

I believe the server.list wont get created until you have some packages installed

Have you verified that http://www.sinusgroup.tld/smf/install.php, does actually exist in that path?

errr - Use your ftp software or whatever means you used for uploading smf to your server (cpanel etc) and see if that file exists in the path you are specifying.

Did you unzip smf & then upload?

Sorry to sound so inept - but yes I did verify that the paths existed.  I thought you were asking a different question.
