Unable to load the settings template - smileys and smiley sets. Post upgrade.

Greetings.  My first post.  Thank you for reading.

I have upgraded from 1.0 beta 5 to 1.06.  No errors during upgrade.

Smiley functionality has been lost. e.g., doesn't show up above post window.  When I try to edit the configuration for the Smileys and Smiley sets, I receive an error message : "Unable to load the settings template". 

As per a previous post, I re-uploaded the ManageSmileys.template.php again, but this did not help. 

I ran a board repair, but it found no problems.

I am seeing a lot of  undefined indexes, of which the smileys are included   --> 

8: Undefined index: smileys_manage_info

This seems to be from /Sources/Admin.php

But this file on the live BBS is exactly the same size as the file in my local source directory - e.g., the install tarball.
