File Owner?

This isn't really for help but more of a suggestion I guess. I've often noticed when people are having problems with installing mods or themes, in the end they often cannot edit the files. Or delete them in some cases. I know this is because when SMF uploads the files via Apache it is using the apache user/group to do so. Is there a way for us to tell SMF to set owner/group to a different name when it uploads and installs packages? If not, is this planned? Maybe a better question, is it possible? Seems something like this is needed for such situations. Kind of a pain for the people who have to contact their host to change the file ownership for them everytime. Thanks for any replies.

Just a little bump here. It's been a while and I'm seeing more and more problems with this. Especially being at tinyportal.net I know that TP is not the only mod that does this. Any comments from the devs?

its more a case of people having mods and uninstalling them to recieve an error if people would understand that they need to remove the code that the mod added then be easier, a better thing would be if its possib le to remove a mod that also takes the added code with it, but that would be almost impossible to do as   is.

I'm not quite sure what you're saying... So here's what I'm saying. On a linux webserver with SMF, after installing a mod the apache server deems the files to be owned by apache instead of the user. Thus, making it so that the user cannot remove/chmod/edit the files without contacting the host. I've seen some people do this in CPanel, but I feel that shouldn't have to be the case.
