javascript errors, not able to post

This is the error message I get when trying to use BB code in a message on my smf1.0 test board
('document.postmodify.message' is null or not an object

Does anyone know what causes this?
Seems some kind of Javascript mix up?

You removed the </form> for the quick search in index.template.php.
