replace old smf file to new

hello all..
i have 1 prob now..i wanna replace my database.. my new database is skyking_smf7 but it's blank.. so i wanna to replace from my old database..is skyking_smf3 what should i do? i try copy all at phpmadmin but i donno to do..
i try to edit at setting.php.. what is correct way to to..
