Sorry to have to ask

It was easy to follow before and now I am lost... terribly lost.
I want to create forums that are visable to everyone. But I want it to be so no one can read a post or evens see that there *are* posts unless they are in a speicific group. Or have a password .. or whatever.
Put anotehr way I want everyone to see all the forums and *wish* they could see what kind of posting was going on there... but cannot.

I could have done this myself with the old software but I cannot make sense of the new format.

Sorry.. please help
