- I do not know whether there is a Malaysian or Indonesian language pack.
- I volunteer to do the translation if none.
- Those people concern (SMF creator) should provide me the contents and I shall do the translation for the benefit of 'NUSANTARA' users.
- Thank you and have a nice day.

thanx to you all for the great work ;D

1.) Surprisingly I could not find an Italian Language pack! Will there be one? (need it for my users, I could unfortunately not do one)

but what I can do

2.) I would do language packs for certain regional german dialects

e.g. Viennese, Bavarian, Schwaebisch, Tyrolean, Styrian  IF that is wanted.
I know, that some users of this regions would like that, but would you put them also on your download page? If not, I don't think I'll bother.

Compuart

Actually, we're still looking for an Italian translator, you wouldn't happen to know one would ya? ;)

As for regional packages, we're trying to limit the amount of language packs while at the same time cover as many languages as possible. Maintaining the official language packs is pretty time consuming, especially since we currently convert all packs to the version of SMF that's being released, before the version is released. I'd be happy to create a sticky topic linking to all unofficial translations that are being made. We welcome every contribution to SMF!

I'm interested in Mongolian language translation. Because of extreme lack of time I wonder if just changing the buttons will do it for my little use.

But if I translate (no promise), how much is the volume of translation needed? Approximately how many pages of A4 format texts will it be? I know this sounds goofy. It is the fastest way of knowing whether i can handle it.

I downloaded some stuff from Translation FAQ, however could not grasp the volume of work needed.

Thanks for any feedback.

If you download the english files, you can look at them how much you've to translate. I didn't count the lines in A4.

Hi there, i dont know if im in the right place, but i gotta ask...
Im looking for a button set generator for the Classic Theme, does anyone knows about one? Im trying to translate my forum to a Street-spanish kind of language...

Daniel D.

There was a translator long time ago. I think he still exists, but I don't know the page anymore. Did you try to search in google?

Compuart

The button generator link in the FAQ was no longer valid and has been updated. It now points to http://buttongenerator.yabb.nl/

Standard button for the forum seems not to be working at this time. Seems to be som server script error.

Looking at and posting in the Italian SMF support board, a member sent me by email, also I have found Italian translation in http://www.smitaly.net/

Maybe they should be contacted.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year,
Please tell us what was changed in SMF 1.1.1 default language files. I was using SMF 1.1 and translating it into my native language, but now I need to know what lines should be added or removed from my translation.
Thank you :)

Dannii

There were no language changes between 1.1 and 1.1.1 :)

For foreign languages better to use it in it's own window and switch to UTF-8 codepage, see details here http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=655.msg6009#msg6009

Tell me if we get that translation or not! I am in need of it so I'm going to start. However, I can't do the buttons so I can give the words to someone else to do buttons for me.

Regards,
Dennis
