so I dont have messages I want to keep that have been read mixed in with new messages.  8)

How could they be "mixed in"? wouldn't they always be in chronological order? just my .02

I think he's saying so they don't even show in the inbox anymore. kind of how you can move email in outlook to a seperate folder.

Yes, you can even have the message in many "folders" (really its only labels)
