Insert Google Ads on Classic Theme vs 1.0

Hi there:
I've been looking all over the community forum for exact details on how to install Google AdSense on all my Classic Theme forum pages (those available to users).  Most of the instructions do not work or are for other themes.  I have tried all the code I could find currently on the forums and none of it works, I keep getting an error message.  It looks like the people who helped other users sent the exact details through emails, not on this forum.

I am not an experienced coder, but with specifics, can edit code to put in my AdSense code, plus any formatting code that might be required.  I'd like to place the ads just below the news line (at the top) and at the bottom (after the forum threads).  Again please don't refer me to another page unless you're sure that all the information for the Classic theme is there, as I said, I've searched and tried everything I could find already on the forums.  Thanks in advance for your help

Have you tried the "ad_mod" It will do exactly what you want.

From what I understand the Ad mod only installs on the Default theme and I'm using Classic theme.  Also, I was still unable to find any instructions for installing the Ad Mod even on the Default theme.  Thanks again.
