Test link

Just before really switching I noticed that all my posts that started with a link like this
Somesite

Got converted or displayed wrong in the public beta; seeing the example above shows that i's not a problem in the version you are using, but on my public beta board it looks like this:

=travel&thesubsect ion=destination&theseconds ubsection=africa" target="_blank">Somesite

See
http://www.7summits.com/smf/SSI.php?ssi_function=boardNews;board=10;limit=3;length=200
for 2 examples in last 3 posts.

Should I renew my subs.php or something?

Thanks,
7s

it shows up above, because you put it between code brackets.
i think you have to use the whole url in that kind of bracket e.g.

that always works for me.

7summits

Yep, that always worked for me in Yabbse as well, but as mentioned above, not anymore in the public beta SMF, see examples, so probably some bug has entered the subs.php?

*goes and tries it on his board.

hmm...works for me.

*scratches head.

and you included the full path?

7summits

Hey Pege,

if you go to the last 3 posts:
http://www.7summits.com/smf/SSI.php?ssi_function=boardNews;board=10;limit=3;length=200
you will see #2 & #3 begin with a strange URL, not as I entered it, in Yabbse they were ok.

I just noticed it's not only in the beginning of posts, check out this post:
http://7summits.com/smf/index.php/topic,367.0 --> the link in the first line and the link on the last line are both mangled since converting from Yabbse (see original yabbse post here:
http://7summits.com/forum/index.php?board=11;action=display;threadid=367;start=0 ).

What has happened?  :-\

ok, i checked the property links:

This is the link that worked.

Quotehttp://7summits.com/info/stats2/index2.php?_=d&familyname=Blanco

This is the link that didn't work

Quotehttp://7summits.com/info/stats2/index2.php?_=d&familyname<span style=

apparently, it merged part of a span tag into the url, which messed it up.  just take the "<span style=" out, and put the correct back in.

as to why this happened, i'm not sure.  may be some bug...checking a bit.

pulpitfire

does it mess up like this when you make a new url link also, or just on the converted ones?

7summits

also on new topics if the url contains a " &"

See test topic:
http://7summits.com/smf/index.php?topic=389.msg1212

Link used in that post <-- works ok here?!?

Simple url seems to work ok in my forum...
Both urls that break have " .php? " in them and some "&" 's ?!?

Seems like a subs bug; but also seems to be fixed here on SMF, is that right?

unless they have already fixed it in the updated beta, you might want to post this in the bug area, so UK will see it right away.

It works fine here:

Mr Ramon Blanco

And on my cvs installation.  The installation seen here is not newer than the public beta, and is in fact THE public beta at the moment.  So, if it works here I'm not sure what to tell you.  Most likely, you're having the same problem that was in the first download, and was fixed on Sunday. (week and some ago now!)

7summits

hmm, strange. I only downloaded it after sunday as I was away until sunday late..

I just replaced all subs files with the ones available for download after your post and still seem to have the same problem:
http://7summits.com/smf/index.php/topic,390.0

Are there any other files that have to do with the stuff?

Thanks,
7s

7summits

yep. And if you quote than the correct url is quoted (so the data is ok). But when posted the diplayed url is wrong?!?

I upgraded from yabbse 1.55. Will try a new full install tomorrow (or is there a new version of the CVs soon?) working with the upgraded dbase and let you know if the problem persists.
Thanks,
7s
