My forums use SMF 1.1 RC2

I have replaced the delete, modify & quote gifs with buttons that I personally like much better.  How and where do I remove the text associated with the original gif's?  My new buttons have that text on them.

Also, in the user panel, where the avatar and rank, etc. is, how and where do I center the content of that panel?
