Problem when changing themes

I'm running SMF 1.0.7 and SMF default theme.

I downloaded TechHead theme and it is great - when I implement the change I loose my links to Google Map and my Ad management (banners no longer display) I thought this was because the theme has been approved for 1.0.6 but when I changed my theme to classic YaBB I still don't have those two items and it has been installed since day one, just never used it. So I'm a bit confused on how to use new themes but keep my map and ads in the forums. When I switched back to SMF default all is well again.

you added your ads etc to the default themel, you need to add the coding to index.template.php in the new theme aswell
