Template specific buttons?

I'm working on my template, and made a new button. I wanted to try it out to see how it looked before working on the rest, happened to be the addpoll button, so I put it into my theme directory, /Themes/mytheme/images/english/addpoll.gif. But it's not showing up, so I'm obviously missing something? I searched and didn't find an answer, sorry if it's been covered elsewhere.

Actually it doesn't, I dont 't want to add a button to the main menu, I want to add a new theme specific button set, and I thought that I could do that by uploading them, but apparently that's not enough?

Does the default theme buttons how up instead? If so then edit index.template.php and set "defaults" to "never".

Yes I'm getting the default buttons. Emptied my browser cache to be sure I was getting the latest too.

I had already looked at that in the index.template.php, it is set to never.

Any chance it might have something to do with permissions?

Also control the themes "images url" in the admin menu. When this is alright then my guess is you uploaded the new button to the wrong place. Try to open the new button with a direct url in the browser and compare with the themes buttons url.
