I looked at your site FF, IE and opera and it looks the same in each one? *shrug*  The only things I noticed were that your avatars have scroll bars now because there isnt enough room, and the navigation bar seems squished too, for the same reason.  You could change your avatar size to something smaller and try a different template that isnt fixed?  But I dont see anything really obviously bad on your site if that helps at all.  :)

Sheepdog360

you looked at the joomla site?

the axiscommand banner is not right of the menu..
in IE, its all moved down ot the bottom for some reason

squished nav bar?

I looked at http://www.geisterjager-pb.org/ and then the forum link

The navigation bar for the forum where the home, help, search, profile, tabs are.  See how they are all spaced out here between the words? Yours are squished together with no space between the words.  I think that is caused by the fixed template as I had that too with that template.

I will look at the banner again

edited to add:  You mean the banner in the joomla banner position?  If so, then its in the same place in all three browsers I have.  I am using IE7 though which is a little better than IE6, but in all three, its between the main menu and the powered by joomla box, in what I think is the standard banner position for that template

hope that helps :)

well corporate america isnt updated yet and are still on IE 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.xxx
here is snpashot of problem:

perplexed

yeah I downloaded the beta version as IE6 is awful.

I gave up using this theme as even though you can change the width of the middle column by making the side columns narrower, it still causes problems with the forum.  The problem is with IE not the bridge or joomla, I still say try another joomla template, I have had no problems since I changed and I use the banners etc, or you could switch the banners off in the forum but then that might be the busiest part of the board *shrug* or switch off the 'powered by joomla' box as that doesnt really do anything as well as anything else you have on the right hand side that you dont need in the forum

Sheepdog360

ok, first of all, the amount of people using IE7 is slim cause its still BETA

secondly, the default theme/template for Joomla works in IE6, here is an example:
www.cholewiak.net
so with that above example, this leads me to believe it is the bridge or is this
trouble shooting process assumption way off base?

perplexed

yes I am aware that it is a beta, the reason I am using it is because of the problems Ive been having with IE6.

I clicked on the link in your above post and the joomla front page is fine obviously, I clicked on the forum link and it opened in a popup ???

From my experience with the set up and that template, it was an issue with IE6 and the width of the fixed width forum.

I was just trying to help by relating similar experience but I'll leave it up to the experts if you think its a bridge problem :)

The forum linnk opens a new window because I Do not have the bridge installed. I just have the site
referenced to display the default joomla theme as a before bridge example to the after bridge installed
example at initial site.
I thank you for your advice/suggestions and help, there is obviously an issue with IE6, but its also when
the bridge is installed that the current issue appears..thanks though..

Orstio...any thoughts?

Use a different Joomla template, as was already suggested.  That template is horrible.  Not only does it do that for wrapping large tables (like the SMF forum), it will do that very same thing if you put a wide image (300+ pixels) in one of your content items.  It looks as though it was designed solely for use with Firefox, and no regard whatsoever for the majority of internet users, who use IE.
