Quote not appearing in quick reply (moving to diff thread)

I've tried to do some research on this, but the search engine must be getting slammed, so sorry in advance if there is a fix for this somewhere already.

Ok.. here's some groundwork.  I recently migrated form mambo to joomla, and from SMF1.1 B3 to 1.1 RC2
I'm running the latest version of the bridge, and have SEF tuned off.

When I click the "quote" button in someones post the screen drops down to the quick reply box, but doesn't copy the quote into the quick reply box.

The quote DOES work in the normal SMF board without using the joomla/bridge link (i.e. http://www.site.com/forums [nofollow] )

I've dug an error up in IE (error doesn't show in forefox, but it still doesn't copy the text int the quick reply)

I've installed a clean copy of SMF (original forum was in teh /forum folder.. copied a completely new version of SMF into the /forums folder, copied my config.php, updated all the pointers to /forums and still the same error) Only thing I can think is somerthing is tweaked in the bridge/mambo integration.

Any Ideas on what is causing this?
