OK if i get permission from the creater of aqua to use his/her templates....

what would be wronge with creating a copy of default through the admin tasks.....
then over writing some of the files in that directory with ones from the aqua directory....
then over writing the images with a set of my own...

would this result in a theme that looks original but behaves like aqua (i.e. mouse over effects, navigation, location of images and tables)

if so what files within the directory should i over write and what files, templates need edited to match the name of my new theme?

before you say anything I know that this would be thrying to find the easy way out... but actually i am just trying to find an easy way in!... just doing this could show me alot and would give me time to sit back and learn the coding and editing and such.

You won't need to get permission to do that on your own personal forum. You'd only need permission if you want to then distribute it.

I haven't used Aqua so I can't give you specifics.
