changing the news design in RC2 default theme...???

please can anybody knows how to Chang the forum news area from horizontal to vertical method like as that found in portals for examples....
in anther words... to find a way that make news expands vertically instead of horizontally even across the whole boards ...

cuz my current hotmail theme using ver new see at  http://www.kingroro.com/smf

and i want to Chang to the rc2 default theme .... cuz it is valdiated

is this possible??
