SMF Version: SMF 1.1 RC2
Okay, so I just freshly installed an SMF forum. I went through the installation process and everything went through fine. I finally get to my forum and... we have a problem.

None of the images show up. They all show up as little red X's in Internet Explorer.

I refreshed several times and it still didn't work.
I CHMOD'd everything in my public_html folder to 7777. Everything.
I refreshed several more times and it still didn't work.
I right click on the red x and select properties. I copy and paste the URL into IE. It comes up.
Once I refresh, that image works. When I refresh again, it goes away.

I just now used the [.url] tags and put a link to an image to show you that there really is an image there. When I previewed the message, I got this error:

You don't have permission to access /Themes/default/images/english/home.gif on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I have no idea what to do. I know I should probably provide further details, but I don't know what those details are. So if an experienced member could reply with some help, I would REALLY appriciate it. Thanks.

I've just installed 1.0.7 and have exactly the same issue.
So I'm interested in the answer as well.

Umm that's very weird.  Not sure what can be causing this.  All the urls and paths seem to be correct.  Make sure that you don't have hotlinking protection on.

pwsegal can you provide your link?

EDIT:  Did you enable compression when you installed SMF?

I installed it via a fantatisco script, so I have no idea if compression was used or not. How can I check?

pwsegal

Solved.
The provider had turned on hotlink protection and I wasn't aware it was on >:(.

Thanks.

Oh, wow. It was hotlink protection. It was set to allow my old subdomain, then I changed it and it didn't update.

Thank you so much for your help. Problem solved.

Thanks! :)

Umm weird consequence since you both had the same issue :P.  Glad to hear it's solved thought. :)
