Age Verification - Month/Day/Year

Hello all

I'm building a Forum and loving it but have a task thats pushing my abilities.
The forum I'm working on requires more than the "I'm 13" checkbox for age verification.

They are looking for:
- Month/Day/Year age verification for registration (13yr over/under pass/fail)
- A cookie that drops that prevents repeated attempts by those under 13 (prevents as best a cookie can).

Snackmaster needs a cookie....... (ouch)

The way it works
/forums/index.php
1) Anyone who visits this URL without a cookie will be redirected to 'age.php' with a  Month/Day/Year form
2) 'age.php' sets one of 2 cookies: agePass for => 13, ageFail for < 13
2) Anyone who visits /forums/index.php  with the "ageFail" cookie will be redirected to 'sorry.php'
3) Anyone who visits /forums/index.php with the "agePass" cookie can view the forums

Issue
The above locks out anything and everything without a cookie (SE's, unregistered visitors etc.)
I'm looking to invoke cookie detection only on this URL: 'index.php?action=register'

I am NOT a programmer and could use some help, anyone interested in this little project is more than welcome to view/contribute/fix! the code and I'll post it if it is of use to anyone else.

Anyhow I have a system in place and it's working very smoothly.
Site owner wanted more than the existing age checkbox.

This URL : /index.php?action=register
- Triggers checks for existence of cookie
- No cookie = Age verification Form
- Pass cookie = Registration form: send visitors to the Forum home page or to Sorry page with site terms
- Fail cookie = Sorry page with site terms

Components
- Age verification page with that sets the pass/fail cookies
- "sorry" page with site terms
- 6 lines of code to check for cookie and redirect if needed

Contact me if you need similar or if you know how to make improve this into a packaged "module".

hm i need that type of mod too for my forum .. is there any package to install? and is this useable on german servers? (becouse of the outher rights) and it would be nice if there is a setup to make this to 18+

Age verification is built into current versions of SMF

To Access
Admin -> Registration (under Members) -> Settings
