better urls / mod_rewrite

Hey guys,
I already had a try and used the search to find a solution, but I didn't get it. So here is my question?
Do you plan to use mod_rewrite for better (more senseful) urls like "smf/carlendar/" instead of "smf/index.php?action=calendar". I am not sure about if there is a mod released (if you know it let me know) but anyhow I think it is attractive to users, so tell me what do you think about it!

I did kind of but just for topics posts and forums.
I had to edit MessageIndex.php and BoardIndex.php in the soruces directly.

I think someone on the board had an example for modrewrite as well.

I have a friend who managed to something like that on his own board.

I wonder if I can contact him to release a mod of some sort.
