What is the different between?....PHP 5.1.2 and 4.4.2

I just want to know what is the differents between PHP 5.1.2 and PHP 4.4.2 ?

The last version of SMF is compatible with PHP 5.1.2? Because my server is running on PHP 5.1.2

This mean that SMF 1.1 RC2 is compatible with PHP 5.1.2 ?

SMF should work just fine with PHP 5.1.2, although it hasn't been fully tested with that version so there might be a few problems that we don't know about. However, we'll be glad to help you fix any of these problems should you find any.
