Godaddy and Installation

Ok I host with godaddy and of course their support sucks. Last upgrade you all had here at SMF they tried to tell me that it couldn't be done manually by me!
Excuse me? Well guess what I did it myself. lol

Well anyway I have seen a newer version and must admit I like it much better.

Well last night after helping a friend and botching her forum I am afraid to do it.

Thank's to JayB who helped me last night. I really appreciate it. More then you will ever know.

I now want to update my forum that is hosted on godaddy.

Anyway question is how can I upgrade from SMF 1.0.6. to SMF 1.1 RC2 without messing it up. haha.

I tried updateing my friends forum last night on another server and somehow wiped out the database.

I don't want to loose all my work.  Do I just install the upgrade over the older stuff I have?  And hopefully I have the right version downloaded.

yes, you just use the update and upgrade packacges depending on what version you have now, YOU DO NOT USE THE FULL INSTALL PACKAGE
